Irish Late Night

Our school hosts events every month at the Student Union Building. This month, the event was Irish-themed! The event had a potato toss, root beer floats, potato bar, henna tattoos, dancing and other fun games. It's opportunities like these that seem silly, but end up being a lot of fun. I would definitely encourage everyone to step out of their comfort zone and go to events like these, even if it is just for five minutes.

10 Years at ISU

I'm definitely a little late in saying this... but congratulations to Alpha Xi Delta for being at ISU for ten years! I can't believe that our sorority started out with four girls and today we consist of 30 girls! I feel so incredibly blessed to be a part of such an amazing group of women. Each and every day, one of my sister's inspires me to be better than the person I was yesterday. These girls make me laugh, help me when I'm down, and truly make college a blast. Here's to another ten years!

Boise Weekend

 Happy Valentine's Day!

This weekend my friends and I went to the Skinny Dipper Hot Springs. We hiked up a mountain for about 15 minutes until we got to the hot springs. The view was gorgeous, and fortunately for us, the weather was perfect! Who would have thought February would bring us 55 degree weather! We're staying in Boise for the weekend, and hoping to see 50 Shades of Grey tomorrow. We also have shopping and hitting up Dutch Bros on the agenda. Even though I'll be single this Valentine's Day, I am happy that I get to spend my weekend with some amazing friends and having a wonderful time.

First Semester of College!

I have finally finished my first semester of college! I would have to say the experiences that I have been faced with over the past fifteen weeks have truly made me grow as a person. First off, experiencing homesickness was something I had never truly had to cope with. I'd been away from my family for a long time before, but I had never had to do it alone. This was definitely one of the worst parts of coming to a new school. With the help Skype and Facetime, it was manageable.

Not only has homesickness been a new thing to cope with, but learning to live with roommates was a big challenge. Roommates are awesome, if you're lucky, you end up with super friendly roommates who will hang out with you and be an amazing friend. However, friendships aside it is still hard to learn to work around a complete stranger's schedule. Showering, cooking, and cleaning can become a huge pain if you don't learn to divide your time, space, and work load.

One last thing that was a bit of a struggle last semester was coming out of my comfort zone. Usually I tend to hang out with just one or two friends. I don't like much of a crowd. After joining a sorority. that tendency quickly had to change. I've learned to be much more open and silly with people rather than closed-off and shy. Additionally, I've really learned to take advantage of all the free activities the campus have to offer. Here at ISU, the school offers many free movie nights, sports events, concerts, and other fun activities.

That being said, here are some of the top memories from my first semester of college!

I'm back!

My sorority just finished our big/little week and I found out who my amazing big is! She has truly spoiled me rotten this week!

She made all of the canvases for me and has given me tons of other presents. These are just some of the highlights. The last picture is from reveal day. It's true what they say- the only thing better than getting a bid, is getting a big! 👭☔️

My First Week as an AlphaXiDelta

My first week as an Alpha Xi Delta has been a ton of fun! I've attended a sisterhood where all my sisters and I watched movies and painted nails. I also went to Xi in the City where I learned about the high standards my sisters and I are held to from now on. Homecoming starts this week and us girls are in competition mode because we want our sorority to win! We are decorating floats, and windows! Wish us luck. XOXO
